Uplands Primary School

Monday 23rd - Friday 27th September

In Kestrels class week we have been doing lots of very interesting learning!

In our English lessons, we have been writing descriptions and have learnt about expanded nouns phrases and prepositions. We also looked at features of newspaper reports and finished the story 'Escape from Pompeii' which we will then use to write our own newspaper reports. In our vocabulary sessions we have learnt lots of new words such as procession, colossal, region, solution and lots more!

In maths, we have been working hard at reading and writing numbers. We have also looked at properties of shapes and the Y4 children have been working on symmetric figures.

In topic we researched life as a Roman soldier and found out about the Roman army, weapons, daily life, qualities and lots more. We also labelled the nine countries on a map that the Romans invaded in geography. So far we have loved learning about the Romans because it's really interesting.

The Kestrels have also started the recorder in music and have learnt new notes and enjoy performing to the rest of the class.

Have a great weekend everyone!
