Uplands Primary School

Monday 14th - Friday 18th October

We have had a great week in Kestrels!

In maths, we have been comparing numbers, negative numbers and solving word problems. We have also been learning angles. The year 4 children have learnt acute and obtuse angles and the year 3 children have been working on quarter turns and half turns.

In English we have looked at features of a non-chronological report and learnt about formal language. We also planned our four sub-headings ready for our report writing next week. We researched Roman baths, Roman soldiers, entertainment and food.

In history, we learnt about how the Romans lived in Britain. We found lots out about their houses, technology and families.

In art with Mrs Walker, we made Roman pottery out of clay. Dawn Almasi came in to help us with our amazing creations. We can't wait to decorate them next week!

In music we learnt more notes on the recorder, G B and A. It was a very loud afternoon in the Kestrels class!

Have a great weekend.
