Eagles

Welcome to Eagles!

 Teacher: Miss Dempster

Teaching Assistant: Mrs Croft

In Eagles, we encourage the children to be independent and confident learners. We support their growing maturity by giving them a number of important roles around the school.  Please come and speak to us at anytime if you have any questions.

Homework:

Your child will be set maths homework on Prodigy (www.prodigygame.com) which is a fun online maths game. They are expected to complete 10 games per week. They will also be set spelling home on Spelling Shed. Again, they are expected to play 10 short games across the week. At the beginning of term, they will be given log-ins to each of these platforms.

Children will not have a reading diary this year, but they are still expected to read at home at least four times a week. This should include reading out loud to an adult as well as to themselves as this is still an important skill.

PE:

The children will have PE on Wednesday afternoon. They will need to wear their PE kit to school on this day.  During the Autumn Term, the children will be walking to swimming every Monday.  They will need to have with them their swimming costume, towel, goggles (optional) and a snack.  They will also need a waterproof coat.

Knowledge Organiser

Every term we create a knowledge organiser which contains the key facts that the children need to know for science and humanities.  This will be sent home at the beginning of every term.  This is so you can support your child recalling the key knowledge that will support their work in class.

Please have a look at our weekly blog for more up-to-date information about what we have been up to in class in each week.

If you would like to email the class teacher, please contact admin@uplands.gloucs.sch.uk and your message will be forwarded to Miss Dempster.
