On this blog you can find out all about the wonderful art, music, dance and drama that is an important part of life here at Uplands Primary School!
Cheltenham and Stroud Dance Festivals
Our after school dance club has performed at two dance festivals this year for the first time. They practise each week and the children who take part are from Reception class all the way up to Year 6.
Music and Dance Assemblies
We hold termly music and dance assemblies so that the children can showcase their talents in front of the whole school as well as friends and family.
Country Dance Festival
Owls class took part in the Country Dance Festival before Easter at Stratford Park Leisure Centre. They learnt 6 dances and even the parents joined in with some on the night too! The children had a fantastic time and really gave it their all with some tricky dance moves.
We recently held our very first Busking Friday where the children bought in their own musical instruments from home and played out in the playground together at lunch time. There were children singing, playing guitar, piano and much much more! We hope to hold another event really soon as it was so wonderful to see the children celebrating music together.
In July 2017 we held a 'phenomenal' art exhibition of the childrens' work at the Lansdown Hall and Art Gallery in Stroud. It was attended by over 200 members of the public as well as the children and their families.
